Many creators, authors, therapists, and conscious entrepreneurs have come to us for coaching, and we are surprised to find that often, they don’t have their own distribution list. They have successfully built a big following on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and the rest of other social media platforms, but capture only a few people in their CRM system so that they can contact prospects without paying for it.

Social media siphoning is what we teach so that you can move your leads from a platform that you don’t control to a place where you have the power to access your contacts as your most important asset.

Tune in to the ᴄᴏɴꜱᴄɪᴏᴜꜱ ᴍᴀʀᴋᴇᴛᴇʀ podcast — The Social Media List Building Method with Richard Taubinger and Kylie Slavik. ▶️

Key points covered in this episode:

[00:00:58] Introduction: Social media siphoning is a list-building method that is a powerful method for lead generation that you have direct access to.

[02:48] Kylie shares effective techniques that she’s been doing in the last ten years. She emphasizes keeping in mind to add a ton of value in your actual post by talking about the benefits, showing people what life could be like on the other side of the training you provide, and leading them where to get more information

[05:14] Richard cites that we always aim to take people from social media networks and bring them to our email lists as a general rule. If they are on our web page or email list, they should also follow us on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. This produces a powerful web of contacts around us. This way, we can effectively communicate with them, target them and call them to action.

[08:40] Don’t let algorithms get the better of you – take control and keep creating amazing content for your audience. You absolutely need to take the time to understand what they need and like and build on it.

Of course, it’s not about becoming cheesy or watered-down but rather listening to feedback in a constructive way and deepening your message.

[11:27] The role of social media is to get people off social media. As a conscious entrepreneur, you aim to bring people to safety with your product, service, and expertise. You want to carry them into your world to show them what they’ve been missing.

Your websites, email lists, membership sites, and inner communities can save those aimlessly wandering around social media and help them become part of meaningful content and conversations.

[14:07] It’s not wrong to grow your Facebook group or pages – it’s just that, in the grand scheme of things, building up your email list should be your priority. Companies can get banned from platforms all the time, including account restrictions. If you ONLY rely on Facebook contacts, that would be disadvantageous. An email list helps you diversify so that you can also turn to other platforms for backup.
